Our accredited Film, Television and Media programmes connect theory to practice, preparing students to thrive in the creative industries.

We offer courses for:

We’re open Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00, and our Student Advisors are available to guide you every step of the way.

What You Can Do

How It Works

  1. Complete the Enquiry Form and select your areas of interest, you can choose more than one.
  2. A Student Advisor will contact you within two working days with tailored information and help you book your VAARK assessment or consultation.
  3. You’re also welcome to visit the academy during office hours to speak to a Student Advisor in person.

Are you ready to start your journey?

Follow these steps to complete your application and prepare for your February 2026 intake.

Step 1: Complete the Application Form : Submit your details and upload a certified copy of your ID and your latest results.
Step 2: Pay the Application Fee – R1 900

  • A non-refundable application fee of R1 900 (or R1 950 for certain programmes) is required to process and verify your application.
  • Payment can be made via ZOHO online or EFT within ten working days.

Step 3: Receive Provisional Acceptance: Once your documents and payment are verified, you’ll receive a Provisional Acceptance Letter with your student number and next steps.
Step 4: Attend the On-Set Experience: Join us for the On-Set Experience Tour,  your introduction to the professional studio environment where learning comes to life.
Step 5: Confirm Your Enrolment: Pay your R10 000 enrolment deposit to secure your place. The deposit is credited toward your tuition fees, and early applicants may qualify for available discounts.
Step 6: Receive Your Welcome Pack: After your deposit is confirmed, you’ll receive your Welcome Pack with Orientation details, February 2026 start dates, your digital student ID, and Student Portal access.
Step 7: Begin Your Programme: Your classes start in February 2026, marking the start of your journey inside South Africa’s largest creative studio environment.

Important to note

*Application Fee: In addition to the Tuition Fee, non-refundable.
**Enrolment Deposit: Due immediately. All programmes non-refundable deposit R 10 000.
International Student Levy: R10 000. All first time enrolling International Students will be required to pay the International Levy before enrolment.

Media City Academy reserves the right to withdraw or make changes to any programmes or content thereof. NSFAS funding cannot be used at Media City Academy, as it is a Private Institution.

How The fees process works

Your financial journey with Media City Academy is designed to be transparent, structured, and supportive. The fee process aligns directly with your enrolment journey, ensuring that each step is clear and professionally managed.

  1. Application Fee – R1 900 (or R1 950 for certain programmes)
    A non-refundable application fee is required to initiate your application. This fee covers the administration, processing, and verification of your documents. It must be paid within ten working days of submitting your form via ZOHO online payment or EFT.
  2. Enrolment Deposit – R10 000 (credited toward tuition)
    Once your application is provisionally accepted and you’ve completed your On-Set Experience Tour, you will be required to pay a non-refundable enrolment deposit of R10 000.
    This deposit secures your place in the programme and is credited toward your total tuition fees.
  3. Tuition Fees and Payment Plans
    Each programme has a clearly defined tuition fee, with the option to pay in structured monthly instalments.
    Examples include:
  • 1-Year FET Certificate: Tuition R70 000 | Instalment option R6 167 x 10 months
  • 1-Year National Certificate: Tuition R86 925 | Instalment option R5 958 x 10 months

Students who settle their tuition fees in full during the first term qualify for a 10% early payment discount.

  1. Additional Fees to Note
  • The application fee and enrolment deposit are both non-refundable.
  • The enrolment deposit is credited toward your tuition balance.
  • International students are required to pay an International Student Levy of R10 000 prior to enrolment.
  • As a registered private higher learning institution, Media City Academy operates independently of NSFAS funding mechanisms.
  1. Payment Support and Flexibility
    Media City Academy offers structured payment plans designed to make tuition manageable. Our finance team can assist with payment scheduling, instalment planning, and early settlement options.
